Trip to Vail, CO

We recently took our FIRST EVEr trip with Weston and it was a good one.  We went with Ryan's family to Vail and it was AMAZING!  We had many, many firsts on this trip including-

*My first time to see snow
*Weston's first time on a plane
*Weston's first time to see snow
     *My first time to ski
*First time to WAY overpack for a baby

The trip was so much fun.  Skiing was so fun and Vail was absolutely gorgeous.  Weston did great on the plane on the way there and on the way home.  We got VERY lucky and both flights weren't full, so Weston was able to have his own seat.  We packed plenty for him to do on the plane, so it kept him busy :)  Weston had a blast playing in the snow, and I think we all had a blast dressing him like a little snow bunny.  Ryan's parents were so gracious enough to take us along on the trip.  I know they enjoyed playing with Weston and watching his reactions to the snow.  Walking through the town, it was so fun to imagine coming back with Weston when he would be able to snow and experience a bit more.  I was amazed to see how many young kids skiing and how good they were! I can't wait to take many, many more trips as a family.

Allergy Testing

Weston was finally able to do his allergy testing this week.  I was very nervous going in because I was so afraid the testing would hurt him.  We went to Dr. Sim in Friendswood and we LOVED him.  He was so good with Weston and his staff was so nice.  The testing itself only took 10 minutes and we were SHOCKED to find out that the only thing he tested positive for was molds.  That means he has outgrown his milk allergy!  We are so excited to start giving him regular milk again! Now, because he is allergic to all molds, that means he will probably develop more allergies when he is older but for now we are good!  We can eliminate a dose of medicine during the day and we also got prescribed a nose spray.  Since Weston did so well, I treated him to some Menchie's icecream after his appointment.

Weston is TWENTY Months Old!!!

Twenty Months, Full Blown Toddler, Little Man...Weston is growing up FAST!  We still have been battling sickness after sickness, but he's been a trooper through it all.  I can't believe that in just a few months we will be celebrating his second Christmas and then planning his second birthday party.  If only time could and would slow down.

At TWENTY Months Weston...
*weighs 26.10 lbs
*wears 18 month, or 18-24 month clothes
*loves eating "sketti", blueberries, apples, bananas, chicken, and french fries

*counts to 13
*now also knows pink and white

*can put together puzzles all by himself
*can carry on conversations with people (who can understand him)
*picks out his own food
*si able to tell me what he wants and needs most of the time

Trip to the Farm

We went up to the farm this past weekend to celebrate Ryan's grandpa's 80th birthday!  It was so fun getting to see the entire family and also meet family from Georgia.  Weston had a BLAST playing outside in the dirt.  I guess it's time for me to accept that dirt, mud, and messes are going to be a part of my world from now on.  We ate a bunch of wonderful food and enjoyed visiting with everyone.  Weston did great on the drive up there and home thanks to the iPad.  The whole family LOVED watching and listening to Weston.  Everyone commented how impressed they were that he said so much at only close to 20 months.  We are very proud of our sweet and smart boy!

Weston's 2nd Halloween

Well, Halloween has come and gone.  Weston had his first school party which he loved, but he overall Halloween was not his favorite holiday.  He did not appreciate the cute costume I bought him.  I managed to get one picture of him in it, but then he went into a full blown tantrum.  We also went to Halloween in the Park at Stevenson Park.  It had rained all weekend, so they had to move all of the booths.  It was very crowded, but we managed to stay awhile and trick or treat.  We were planning on going trick or treating with Liz, Graham, Hudson, Melissa, Beau, and Brynn but instead we came home and passed out candy.  I changed Weston into his overalls and shirt and called him a "farmer."  He ended up having fun outside and watching the other kids trick or treating  Better luck next year with the costume choice mom!
