35 Week Update
Yesterday I had my 35 week appointment and ultrasound! I can't believe in 5 weeks, or less, our little one will be here! Right now they are estimating that he weighs 5 lbs 11 oz (60th percentile at this stage). Of course this could be wrong, but from what it looks like he will be bigger than both Ryan and I at both! We both have tall people on both sides of the family, so I am very curious to see just how big our little stinker will be! This ultrasound technician was AMAZING! She talked to me the entire time she was doing measurements and taking images which was so nice because I was so nervous. She of course commented on the fact that Weston did NOT want to show his face...our child is a shy one ;) She did say though that it looks like he has a lot of hair! I simply can't describe how excited I am to see him!!! The doctor said everything looks great and that he is in the head down position getting ready to make his entrance! Dr. Smith didn't check my cervix this time, but those checkups will start next Monday and will continue every Monday until he arrives! Today at work I was having some "not so normal" pains, so I am curious to know if he is making his way into the birth canal. It seems like he is having more and more episodes of the hiccups which I've been reading is good because he's practicing his breathing. Time has FLOWN BY and Ryan and I are on a mission this weekend to install the car seats, wash his clothes and sheets, and do some final organization. My sweet friends at work have started a calendar at work and people are making guesses of when Weston will make his debut; we will see who is right on the mark! I will keep you all posted!
Family Baby Shower~1/28/12
This past weekend my mom, Ryan's mom, and Ryan's aunt hosted my family baby shower. Everything was great and I know everyone had a fun time. Although most of my family couldn't make it, I still had a great time visiting with people. I even had one of my former students from two years ago come with her grandma who is a teacher at Ryan's mom school! It was so great to see her and see how much she has grown! There was plenty of food and plenty to drink and of course I did both! Weston was blessed with a ton of great gifts and we've been busily putting them away at our house! Below are a few pictures of the shower...

Update on Weston's Nursery and Life in the Womb
...so we've been working a little bit more in Weston's room, so I wanted to share a few pictures! It still needs a few last minute touches, but we are hoping to have it done before he arrives!
As for me, I go back to the doctor on Monday for an ultrasound and check up! I'm getting really anxious about the appointment because she will start checking me to see if I'm starting to progress! I've been having some Braxton Hicks contractions and today started to get a few minor cramps. I can't believe that in just over a month Weston will be here to hold, snuggle with, and love on!
Enjoy the pictures!

1-7-12 Baby Shower #1
This weekend my amazing friends and sister threw me a baby shower and WOW is all I can say! It was at Liz's house and everything was PERFECT; from the decorations, the food, the cake, and the company I couldn't have asked for anything else. I am so, so lucky to have such a wonderful support system. I got over to Liz's a little before 1:15 and watched the finishing touches being put up. Soon after, guests starting arriving. It was so great to be in the presence of all of my friends...from work, childhood, and adult life...it was truly special! Weston was SPOILED with not only gifts, but also with the love and encouragement from so many people. Let me tell you, opening gifts at 8 months pregnant can be exhausting! When we got home we "placed" everything in a relative location of where it will go, but I know we have so much washing, organizing, and finalizing to do before he makes his debut! Here are some pictures for you to enjoy from the shower:
My FABULOUS hosts...Liz, Jenn, Ashley, Laura, and Erin (Erin's shower was the following day for the girls)
of course I had to have a Julie Moncrief cake!! It was delicious and oh-so-cute!

7 1/2 Month Update
We recently had our 3D ultrasounds and it was so great to see what our little boy has been up to lately. Weston is quite content in his position these days-head down facing my hip bone. I can't imagine how he is so comfortable, but he has his hands and feet all up in his face; it's crazy! He was busy sucking away on his hands, so the ultrasound tech said that he may have some hickeys when he comes out! Since my placenta is anterior we didn't get the best pictures of his little face, but the tech said that he has a little button nose, full lips, and some chubby cheeks! She even said that it looks like he is growing a lot of hair!! I know that I had a full head of jet black hair and Ryan's mom said that he had just a little bit of blonde hair when he was born. He even took the opportunity to show us the finger during our sessions...he is for sure my son :) We also got lots of images of his "boy parts" during the session, so there is no doubt that he is ALL BOY! Words can't express how excited I am to see what he looks like when he comes out! I can't believe how fast time is going by; March is going to be here before we know it! Here are a few pictures from our sessions...
As for me, everything is starting to seem more real. At the doctor this past week my blood pressure was high, so they admitted me into the hospital to run some tests for preeclampsia. It doesn't look like I have it thank goodness, but I have to start going to the doctor every week to check my blood pressure, weight, and swelling. My doctor told me just to "relax as much as possible at work"...we will see how that goes with teaching 48 eight and nine year olds! Hopefully though when I go back all will be good; I just REALLY need to watch what I eat and learn how to BREATHE and LET GO the next month and a half! Ryan and I have our birthing classes coming up the next two Sundays, so I am excited/nervous to go through those. I am looking forward to touring the hospital though.
Weston's room is coming together little by little! I will be posting pictures soon of the final product!
